The Fort Sam Houston Museum chronicles post history from 1845 to the present. World War II displays examine key battles and show the development of the war’s successful “triangular division” infantry organizational structure. The post also offers the U.S. Army Medical Department Museum, which describes military medicine from 1775 to the present.

Fort Sam Houston is an active military base and access is limited. Please call the Fort Sam Houston Museum for detailed visitation instructions. Visitors typically gain access same day.
